just one question ...if co2 causes global warming and co2 levels are rising each year how come global temp is down 1 degree centigrade over last ten years

co2 is a result of global warming not a cause of it. One can see this if one overlays Al Gore's two line graphs of climate and co2 levels in An Inconvenient Truth. (that is why Al didnt do in in the movie) Temp goes up and oceans release co2 temp goes down and oceans asorb it. Anyone who still believes in man caused global warming is either ill informed or has an agenda.

There is no argument that global temperature is rising at a rate of about 0.6 deg C/century, with an oscillation of about +/- 0.2 deg C in phase with the 60-year Pacific Decadal Oscillation.
There is no evidence whatever, anywhere, in any article, however, that this warming is due to CO2, nor that it is anthropogenic, nor that it poses any threat to human habitation or civilization, nor that any possible human activity could stop it.
In fact, the latest research appears to decisively rule out any significant role for CO2 in the current warming.
Bandwagons are not science, they are politics.

Craig, interesting point. So you see it as a natural progression of temperature. That it would take place regardless of human's interaction with the environment. Interesting.

As the global warming debate continues, we seem to be losing site of the known negative effects of mankind on the planet. Sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc. are all known pollutants. In addition we continue to destroy 100 acres/day of rain forest (the most ecologically important system in the world). If a plan to address these issues could be initiated on a world-wide scale, there would be real known positive effect on our planet's health. And such a plan would by definition have to address the global warming issue. By reducing the amount of known poisons and ceasing destruction of ecologically sensitive areas, we would also reduce the amount of CO2. However, making Al Gore and other quasi-governmental entities wealthy, with "Cap and Trade" is ridiculous. Make the laws, and enforce the laws to save our planet...not from CO2, but from the most destructive force of all...greed.
